The City of Windom has been operating under a Home Rule Charter since about 1920. The Government is a Mayor-Council Plan. The Mayor, Council Members-at-Large, and four Council members (two from each ward) are elected for four-year terms.
Council Meetings: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. They are live, recorded and rebroadcast on Channel 72 on Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. the week of the council meeting. The meetings are also on YouTube live and available for viewing.
